Another set of cryptic signs was discovered Saturday morning at Central Mall.

LPD Sgt. Brad Davis said he was called by the head of security at Central Mall Saturday morning. Several signs with the word “Praestolor” on the top and the date of “8-30-12” on the bottom were found outside the entrances and appeared to be like four recovered Friday morning from Hobby Lobby. Following Friday’s discovery, Hobby Lobby’s manager said he Googled the word praestolor and learned that it means “stand ready, wait for, expect,” according to the report. The manager said he was concerned that it was a threat of some type, Davis said.

A long black hair was found stuck to the tape of two of the signs recovered at Central Mall, Davis said. Surveillance video was to be analyzed to see if any of the activity was recorded, according to the report.

    Gas thief sought

A business owner told police that it appeared someone was syphoning gas from his company trucks Tuesday morning.

Roger Dutil said that as he arrived to work shortly after 6 a.m., he saw a black Chevrolet pickup with a faded hood parked next to one of his company work trucks at 1408 NW Hunter Road, said LPD Officer Daniel Brown. A short while later, Dutil said he saw a hose running from the company truck into the street and gas was pouring from it, Brown said, but the black truck was nowhere to be found. Approximately 20 gallons of gasoline were reported stolen.

Dutil called police later in the afternoon after he examined a pair of company trucks and discovered them disabled. It appears that sometime between Friday and Tuesday, the catalytic converters were cut off and removed from two cargo box trucks, the report states.
